Explore Our Electrochemical Conversion, Decarbonization and Recycling Technologies
Faraday uses its vast experience designing, building, and installing electrochemical hardware and system for targeted missions. Faraday has worked on technologies including Electrochemical Recycling (zero discharge electrochemical machining, carbon fiber composite recycling), Destruction of Pollutants (PFAS remediation), and Conversion of Materials and Chemicals (CO2 upcycling, peroxide generation, and material dewatering).
Faraday’s electrochemical conversion technologies span a wide range of electrochemical processes. We have developed new methods to recycle electrolytes to recover valuable materials in a zero-discharge process, improve electrocatalyst utilization, continuously dewater nanocellulose material, reduce energy input while improving the rate of PFAS/PFOA destruction, and many more. Faraday’s focus is to reduce energy and chemical costs while improving operational robustness and efficiencies.
We have demonstrated approaches to:
- Design electrocatalysts for electrochemical conversion systems to produce valuable chemicals from carbon dioxide
- Reduce energy input during electrochemical destruction of target molecules
- Efficiently produce hydrogen peroxide from air and water for the Space Station
- Design environmentally benign stripping solutions to recover metals
